Sport 🏐
At Dungarvan College, we have a variety of different sports as part of our extra-curricular activities. Our school gym and tarmac area are open for sporting activities every lunchtime, as well as many days for after-school training.
Volleyball is an enormous part of our school as we compete in Volleyball Ireland competitions, being successful with many boy's and girl's teams. We also compete in FAI soccer competitions, once again with both boys and girls teams. There are many other extra-curricular sports our students compete in such as badminton, athletics and swimming.
Art Club 🎨
The lunchtime art club is open to all students every Wednesday from 1.15 pm to 1.50 pm.
From sketching to painting, and everything in between, the Lunchtime Art Club provides a welcoming space for students of all artistic levels to express themselves freely. No matter your skill level or preferred medium, our club is a judgment-free zone where creativity knows no bounds.
The club is run by Ms. Dobbyn and Nicola Houlihan.
Darts Club 🎯
We hold a weekly darts club during lunchtime as one of our school numeracy initiatives. Many students enjoy playing darts, socialising and adding up their scores each week.
Knitting Club 🧶
Knitting Club takes place in the library at lunchtime on Tuesdays and all materials are provided. It caters to total beginners alongside more advanced knitters. Students can learn everything from the basic techniques, to how to follow patterns.
The club will start with collaborative projects, such as patchwork blankets, and progress to individual projects. It's a lovely space for students to get to know one another, staff, and find a moment of calm in a busy school week!
Karaoke 🎤
We have a student-run karaoke club that meet once a week. Students take turns to take to the mic and perform their chosen songs in our school oval.
Choir 🎼
Students meet regularly to practice their singing and other musical talents in the music room. Students have performed at open nights, graduation nights in our school etc. We are currently preparing to take part in WWETB's "In Harmony" 2024 show at the Wexford Opera House.
Library Activities 📚
There are daily activities in our purpose-built library, run by our full-time school librarian, Jessica. These activities range from reading, chess club and board games.
Computer Club 💻
Students are welcome to join our computer club that takes place daily in our computer room during lunchtime. At various stages throughout the year, students are introduced to coding, computer games etc.
